"Self Portrait, 1973

This was my first nude self portrait, I wanted to explore the act of being naked in front of the camera and peoples reaction to it. I used this photo to convince friends to pose for me. I did a series of nude portraits of male and females just standing in front of the camera in an unself-conscious attitude. This allowed me and my subject to become comfortable with being naked in front of someone. I also gained the trust of people, and they in turn, brought their friends to me to photograph.
